Siskid – Butterknife (Dubmood Gameboy remix)

Posted in Remixes with tags on April 1, 2008 by dubmood

Ok time to stop the negative wibes caused by last days happenings. Issue is going to get solved real soon anyway and hopefully our Atari-collective YMrockerz will see a bigger donation as compensation. Might help future atari-sounds on wax who knows, lets put our hope to Lotek Style! Today I have anotherone of my unofficial -tracked in less than 2 hours ™- gameboy remixes for you, if you liked the silent shout remix you will like this one too, i’m sure. Time for one of my personal favourites, you might have heard influences of his works in other stuff i’ve done. Or maybe not. I dont know much about Siskid anyawy. Just had some MP3 releases popping in a few years ago and he is the only artist on Innitical Cuts that I like.
Love actually. =) Props and all that. Here it is

The Wire

Posted in Attention with tags on February 25, 2008 by dubmood

I noticed that a pretty akward review of my Jahtari Chip-SKA EP was published in the english techno/dub/etc musicmag The Wire. Pretty funny, must say the Jahtarians are good at promotion! ❤ ❤
Anyway, hard to tell if its possitive or negative, really. The reviewer seems more chocked and confused.

Dubmood is a ‘chip-music’ artist from Gothenburg now operating out of Marseillie, with a library of over 300 different pieces composed on Amiga, PC, Atari ST and Gameboy for numerous pieces of cracked software, chip music disks and 8-bit compilations.
This EP gets in a rush with the opener, a version of The Skatalites’ classic “(Theme from) Exodus” from the movie of the same name, followed by a cover of “Kick De Bucket” by The Liberators. The version of The Maytals’ “Pressure Drop” is enough to induce hypertension in serious Clash fans (which Clash fans are not serious?), with the Toots soul scorcher done over in a Fisher Price style.
But the most seriously deranged track here is “VodSka-Dance”, apparently featuring a popular Russian folk tune which buzzes uncontrollably around your head long after the music dies. The final track, the catchily titled “dbug-cd197”, is a collaboration with chip music roots rocker GOTO 80. It’s not dub as we know it, but the strain is mutating rapidly

Léonard de Léonard – Elephantizer (Facteur remix)

Posted in Remixes with tags on February 13, 2008 by dubmood

Time to give heads up to the locals. Facteur from Tcheaz who recently contacted me wich lead to me changing opinion about marseille lacking good new electro as I previously stade in an interview =) This guy is extremly promising and im hoping to hear more from him soon. But I have no clue why he is naming songs after swedish glam-metalrockers, maybe its a french thing to like Europe since I noticed during the freesson residance that Sidabitball also likes them. Or maybe its a joke I dont get because all I can think of when seeing his name is the Percy Tårar Expressen Fredag scetches. ^^ Anyway big up for Facteur! hop hop!
